The journey to BUNGO Nakagawa Breweries Consortium
1880s
In the 1880s, liquor wholesaler Uchida-ya was founded in
Yokohama. The shop was frequented by many notable figures of
the time, including Eiichi Shibusawa—often referred to as “the
father of Japanese capitalism.”
From 1912 to 1945
From Taisho era to Prewar Showa period (from 1912 to 1945),
Uchidaya was loved by the local people of Yokohama and prospered.
Following World War II
Uchidaya was forced to close down due to the food shortages in the
aftermath of World War II.
Present Time
After 80 years, inheriting the spirit of Uchidaya, we have
embarked on a new path as a BUNGO Nakagawa Breweries Consortium,
weaving history together with Sake and Shochu breweries.
